Project Overview

Need someone to write the HungerMitao story, help with content for Wikipedia.

HungerMitao is a volunteer-driven grassroots movement focused on raising awareness about hunger in the USA, improving community engagement, as well as channeling resources and contributions of the Indian American community towards fighting hunger through the Feeding America network of food banks. Launched in North Texas in 2017, the movement has enabled close to 40 million meals through Feeding America and food banks in North Texas, Houston, New York City, Atlanta, and Seattle.
The name translates to “wipe out hunger” and it is the mission of HungerMitao to do just that. The movement has gained tremendous momentum in engaging the Indian community with their local food banks.
There are repeated requests for the story of HungerMitao, that started with 2 motivated and passionate individuals wanting to work towards ending hunger in the US by engaging the Indian American community, and has grown into a movement that has enabled close to 40 million meals in 3 years.

We need a strong creative writer with experience to help us document the milestones and write the story with a creative human interest angle (not technical writing)

Wikipedia approved editor/author is a must in order to help get this story online. You will have full access to the founders of this movement. Your material will come through interviewing the co-founders, from existing news coverage, interviews, and videos.

The story will be housed on our website and shared broadly - nationally and globally.
