Our nonprofit, Hypertext Magazine & Studio, is in need of:
1. migrating an 11-year-old website (updated in 2020) to the drag and drop DIVI theme (including approximately 900 posts),
2. designing new landing page and post pages to look more updated (similar to THE BELIEVER magazine),
3. making sure our GIVE WP, WooCommerce, and social plugins migrate seamlessly.

We have already set up a subdomain and installed the DIVI theme. New illustrations and a new header image are being created by a new artist for our June/July issue. These will be much edgier than the current illustrations.Help our independent press make a fabulous first impression.

HMS is a Chicago-based arts and culture nonprofit and recipient of grants from the Illinois Arts Council and the City of Chicago’s CityArts Department of Cultural Affairs. We are firmly rooted in the belief that engaging the creative mind is essential to both individual and community health. HMS is one of the only literary organizations that combines social justice work with literary citizenship. To this end, HMS offers free writing workshops to Chicago-area adults—in collaboration with local nonprofits—looking to learn techniques to tell and write personal narratives and fictional stories. In 2019, we began publishing our nonprofit students’ writing in our print journal and online.

We publish biannual print journals and have published online since 2010. Our online presence garners over 80,000 unique views annually and it is often donors' and contributors' first impression of our independent publishing programming. Our current WordPress website is dated-looking and difficult to manage. We would like to create a site that looks more like THE BELIEVER magazine (https://believermag.com/).Our website (www.hypertextmag.com) is fully-functioning and we have recently added the GIVE WP donor plugin and a WooCommerce site. These work beautifully. We have also purchased DIVI and created a subdomain where the new website can be built.
