Project Overview

We are in need of help with rebranding the organization, as well as help with determining the best marketing strategies to assist with our fundraising campaign.

Inspiring Young Minds (IYM) places hundreds of deserving minority students in some of the best College Preparatory Schools in the country. One of our primary goals is to bridge the gap between students and academic institutions by educating parents about the world of prep schools and introducing qualified candidates to schools. Our second goal is to reduce potential obstacles to success by providing a solid and meticulous pathway for students to achieve their academic goals within a college preparatory setting, with the goal of attending a four-year college or university.

IYM Video

IYM is comprised of a dedicated working board and volunteers. We have reached a point where our volunteers and our working board cannot provide the level of service required of our member families. We currently developing a fundraising campaign that will address staffing needs and add programs, such as tutoring, test prep, etc. To do this, we need to rebrand the organization and develop an understanding of our client market, which includes national Prep Schools and families in our program. Rebranding and a marketing strategy will allow us to apply for funding at the level we require, implement our plan to address current inefficiencies, and meet our future goals to help more deserving students and families.

We have professionals on our board who are providing leadership to address the organization's inefficiencies. This includes examining our current organizational structure, how we can improve outreach to member schools and families, the capacity of our board members to provide marketing, current and future staffing needs, what is the organization's current social media presence, etc. We have also drafted a Strategic Plan which addresses these and many of IYM's current and future needs.

Our mission is to help bright young students of color and other students with entry into college preparatory schools. Our organization has placed over 750 students in prep schools across the country since its inception.
