Project Overview

We are looking for a WordPress Developer (perhaps using LearnDash) who can add a members-only section to our website that will house an e-course. Specifically, they would create a page on our nonprofit's website to host our Culturally Responsive and Trauma-Informed Teaching course. Alternatively, we are open to utilizing a different platform like Teachable, MyQuest, or Thinkable. We would like to also pursue course accreditation for this e-course.

The course includes text and related questions, plus some photos (no videos). We need a way to grant people (who have paid for the course and completed an online waiver) access to the page with the course (with a 1-year time limit). Then they can read a portion of the text, answer the related questions, then move on to the next text and questions. Their responses will be automatically logged somewhere for our tracking and they will get an automatically generated Certificate of Completion upon completion.

This course has already been tested with 5 cohorts of educators who provided written testimonials about their growth (which can be used for marketing purposes).

The proceeds from this course will go towards supporting our nonprofit's mission to provide high-quality education support to underserved students.

Benefits to the developer: work alongside a Website Team of WordPress experts to oversee maximizing the user experience, this project is a good baseline to develop a larger concept down the road, and we will share their contribution on our social platforms and website.

Being culturally responsive and trauma-informed is more important than ever! As our nation becomes increasingly diverse, it is essential that we are meeting individual needs. I developed a full course to help service providers working with underserved youth to be more culturally responsive and trauma-informed. This is essential so that we do not re-traumatize these children but also so that we provide more positive and meaningful life experiences for them. Furthermore, it helps professionals to reflect and improve upon their own biases, to become more empathetic toward those they are serving, and be more broad-minded advocates.

I have developed and tested ~8+ hours of content (including a pre-course reflection, the course with question checkpoints and summaries, a live online Roundtable, and a post-course reflection). Now I want to improve the delivery of this course by creating a series of interactive, web-based modules. The finished product will be used within our nonprofit to train future tutors. We will also sell the course to other service providers to raise money for our nonprofit. Our ultimate goal is to help provide economic, social, and emotional stability for the youth served, their families, and their community.
