Project Overview

The Global Wisdom Collective, founded in 2020, is focused on preserving and empowering indigenous and endangered communities and their timeless planetary wisdom around the globe. Global Wisdom Collective leads and supports programming and initiatives around intergenerational knowledge sharing, preservation, and protection of ancient wisdom from the individual to the community through documentation, youth, and elder-led solutions, and empowered partnerships.

We have a tremendous impact, but we have not been able to dedicate our energies to social media yet. Social media is not our strong suit and we are looking for a talented individual who can help us establish a digital presence with storytelling on social media and help us gain support for our work.

We are currently executing one of the first intergenerational knowledge-sharing programs in Seattle. We are also working with our partners in Kenya to execute a wisdom preservation program alongside the Endorois Tribe. Our team members have presented at the UN level to advocate on behalf of indigenous peoples' rights. These projects will set significant momentum for the growth and reach of our work. We need support in sharing and communicating this work with others!

Deliverables would include, and are not limited to:
- Establish our social media presence with the collaboration of our current Communication Strategist that will lead on blog writing.
- Create and implement a schedule of posts on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) and LinkedIn as well as a schedule and content ideas for social media for our determined timeline.
- Create the artifacts and infrastructure that can help us build out our longer-term strategy
With indigenous communities making up less than 5% of the world's population but protecting over 85% of the Earth's biodiversity- we believe protecting traditional knowledge goes hand in hand with protecting our Earth. With a team composed of indigenous and diaspora individuals, we are committed to creating indigenous-led solutions that foster the protection of pertinent traditional ecological knowledge that we cannot afford to lose.

This volunteer will be a catalyst for establishing our social media presence and allow us to attract more funders and partnerships to serve our indigenous communities. We have all the documents in place to pass on to our new volunteer and our team's willingness to transfer knowledge and be available to work alongside our new volunteer. We also have a current Communications Strategist that leads on blog writing and will work with this volunteer. We will be utilizing this work to apply for funding immediately and continue funding the growth and expansion of our work.
