We are needing a volunteer to assist us with a marketing strategy for event fundraising and planning. We have a community fundraising event planned for December and would love to start advertising for sponsorships and begin planning the event.Up to 1 in 5 women suffer from Maternal Mental Health (MMH) disorders in the U.S. each year. Research shows that this number has more than doubled during the pandemic. Less than 15% of women diagnosed with a maternal mental health disorder receive treatment. With increased demand and barriers to mental health care because of the pandemic, even fewer moms received treatment. Roughly 1 in 5 women are not asked about depression during prenatal visits despite universal screening being recommended. Up to 50% of women living in poverty will suffer from a maternal mental health disorder. 34% of new mothers report experiencing a traumatic childbirth. Up to fifteen percent (15%) of women will develop anxiety during pregnancy or after childbirth. 70-100% of women (and their partners) have “intrusive” thoughts surrounding childbirth/the postpartum period. Now, more than ever, it is important to address barriers to maternal mental health care and treatment. Helping us to market for our fundraising event will help us raise funds to support our cause for maternal mental health.We have secured 1 sponsor for the event, we have a theme for the event and we have secured and paid for a location for the event with established time and dates. Once the project is complete for marketing for this fundraising event then we will be able to market to sponsors and the community for volunteers and participation.
