Project Overview

We're looking for a WordPress Web Developer who can take our recently redesigned website from concept to reality. Our UX designer and copywriter have already put in the groundwork, ensuring a solid design and compelling content. Now, we need someone with strong WordPress expertise to bring it all together. You'll have the support of our UX designer throughout the process, making sure the transition from design to live site is smooth. If you're a practical problem-solver who enjoys turning plans into functioning websites, we'd love to have you on board to help us launch our updated online presence.

Responsibilities:
1. Implement Figma Design: Translate our new web design, created in Figma, into a fully functional WordPress website.
2. Plugin Integration: Install and configure plugins for key functionalities, including: Events page, Blog, and Donation portal.
3. Website Security: Implement robust security measures to protect the website from potential threats and ensure data integrity.
4. Project Length: We have estimated about 15-20 hours for this project.

This project, with the right help, will communicate who we are and bring better community responses. The Midtown South Community Council is a nonprofit focused on the key destabilizing issues that affect people's lives. We provide intersectional, community-driven solutions to housing, hunger, and health; however, our current website doesn't do an accurate or engaging job of telling that story. We are preparing for updates to the site, but want to be strategic as possible, which is why this content assessment project is a key priority.

Moreover, our message must exemplify the importance of a strong united community for others, which translates to a healthy and stable life for all. From nurtured roots come strong limbs, rich green leaves, and nourishing fruit. MSCC goals will diminish inequality and encourage humanity.

To prepare for our conversation, we're ready to brief you on the key website platforms we use to run our organization. You will work with a dedicated staff member who can ensure the implementation of your tech recommendations. Our organization has consulted with Taproot staff on this project scope. We know that this audit and the ensuing recommendations and support will be key to our development. Our volunteer will have a dedicated staff member to work with, and access to our photo/video archive, website metrics, and any other marketing material that they deem necessary.

After the website design is complete, we need a developer to implement it. The front-end designer will be available to help with the hand-off and any questions.

Nonprofit Overview

The Midtown South Community Council was established in 1983 in New York City to enhance quality of life by addressing the concerns of its residents and local businesses: trash collection, tree planting, criminal offenses, and other issues.

We've outgrown those old interests: After studying the roots of the primary complaints of the community, we decidedly took on the core issues (health, hunger, homelessness, and housing) preventing us from reaching our true potential.

Midtown South Community Council strives to dismantle the causes of homelessness by building an equitable, just, and sustainable social infrastructure to ensure dignity, health, and home for all. Midtown South Community Council envisions a city where homelessness and poverty are eradicated
