Project Overview
Our foundation is planning a 1Million Families March for the Cure to Childhood Cancer (1MFM), on the National Mall in Washington, DC, and in 11 cities throughout the USA. We need to get a PR person who can help us get the word out about this event.
Our foundation's namesake was my six-year-old grandson Ahmad "Captain Poodaman" Butler. Ahmad lost his battle with brain cancer only 9 months after being diagnosed. A month before his death, I had to rush him to the hospital, thinking he would not live through the car ride (by this time, he was paralyzed from the waist down). Instead of worrying about himself, Ahmad told me that when he grew up, he was going to be a policeman, so he could help a lot of people. I made a silent promise to my dying grandson that his fighting spirit and his legacy would help a lot of people.
ABF was established in January 2020. To date, we have served over 10K people. But that is not enough; we have to do more to help the helpless. The 1Million Families March for the Cure to Childhood Cancer does more. Your support can help us attain our goals.
We have a dynamic 1MFM team that has been planning for almost a year and is willing to assist in any way we can. We have a vendor willing to donate proceeds from any nonprofit that sells march merchandise. We have been getting National Landmarks such as bridges and buildings to #Jointhefightwithlights and light up yellow during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. We secured the National Mall for our march on September 15, 2024.
