Project Overview

We are looking for support on updating our current WordPress website, that is outdated.

We need help with updating photos, improving the layout, making the website aesthetically pleasing and intuitive, adding a blog section to our website, and a lead capture function that allows visitors to download free content in exchange for signing up for our newsletter.

We are also looking for our office manager to learn the basics of maintaining the website in the future. This volunteer will provide basic onboarding training so that we can maintain their work going forward.

This project is a top priority for us because, as a small nonprofit that experienced rapid growth during the pandemic, our current website infrastructure no longer meets our needs. Enhancing our website with features like lead capture, a blog, and a more appealing design is crucial for our future sustainability.

As we plan for succession among our full-time volunteer directors, it's essential to strengthen our infrastructure to support future growth. A revamped website will not only help us raise funds for current operations but also for future salaries, ensuring our organization's continued success. Additionally, as we pursue grants, a well-designed website is vital for making a positive impression on grantmakers and effectively communicating our mission.

We have discussed the message we want to focus on and the importance of emphasizing our mission and distinguishing what sets us apart from other food shelves. We are not a food shelf, we are a food rescue mission and while we focus on that work we get the privilege of feeding almost 3,000 families each week. We have a lot of the wording prepared.

We are in the process of taking more pictures of our operation and creating a video that will tell our story. We are also in the process of creating one of the free resources we want to give out on our website.
Once we have a volunteer assigned for this project we will have a meeting and finalize all details.

We collaborate with Second Harvest and local stores to collect good quality food that would otherwise be destroyed and distribute it to families in our community.

Our mission is to be good stewards of the abundance God blesses this country with, to strive for community building through the distribution of recovered food, and to provide opportunities for people to grow in the Christian faith.
