We need help decreasing the refresh time of our data pipeline, so that we can achieve real-time data insights. We're looking to implement an ELT approach using common data tools like Google BigQuery and dbt. While our team is skilled in data analysis, we could use more guidance around data engineering, so we're looking for a pro bono consultant to provide data engineering advice.

This would likely take the form of several coaching sessions to help teach us how to fish. This volunteer will add value by providing knowledgeable support on the project, while the actual legwork will be performed by our data team.

Our organization's vision is to ensure that anyone can access the social safety net without it adding to the already stressful circumstances of poverty. We currently accomplish this by helping those experiencing food insecurity access SNAP benefits. Having useful data insights at our fingertips helps us move toward this vision more effectively, and this project will decrease the time it takes to gain those insights. Ultimately, by helping us on this project you're helping people experiencing food insecurity throughout the United States!

Our organization is committed to the success of this project, and we have support from leadership, data team members, and colleagues. We already have completed key preparatory phases of the project, including mapping our current process, identifying inefficiencies, exploring root causes, researching possible solutions, ranking the solutions against our requirements, and selecting the route we want to go. Now we are moving on to the implementation phase of the project where we build & test our new ELT pipeline.
