In 2009, the Pacific Juvenile Defender Center utilized Taproot to create our first ever logo. Our logo has not been updated since that time. We have evolved as an organization and are celebrating our 25th anniversary this year. We are seeking a brand and marketing expert to a) help re-design our logo, telling a modern story of who we are as an organization and 2) along with that logo redesign, create a 25th anniversary design that we can utilize on t-shirts, mugs, etc for our members and supporters.

Celebrating 25 years as a nonprofit is a milestone. Year after year, our volunteers, board members, and now staff have given their heart and soul to improve the quality of lawyers that represent young people accused of crimes in California. We have seen an incredible number of changes in the youth justice landscape in California in that time, and we take pride in knowing that our multi-pronged approach of training lawyers and providing technical assistance, policy and legislative advocacy and providing amicus and litigation support has helped shift the narrative and change the lives of thousands of young people in our state.

Our current logo has served us for the last 15 years, but we need a refresh that tells the story of the past 25 years and the future to come. We also need a suite of graphics that will help us become more adept at social media, attract friends and supporters, and thank our donors and members.

We are implementing a CRM called Bloomerang that will allow us to send branded emails, and steward the generosity of our supporters in new and unique ways. We have invested in a fundraising consultant to help shepherd us into the future, we are in the process of hiring an administrative manager with adept and fluid technical skills, our board is fully behind a re-brand, and we are committed to the future.
