Project Overview

We are seeking a talented website designer to create designs for our nonprofit's festival website.

We plan to build an IMI Fest website that is designed to effectively communicate festival details to potential attendees, sponsors, and other stakeholders, structured around three key phases. Initially, the Announcement Phase in July focuses on publicizing the festival dates and generating excitement, including social sharing and a sign-up feature. The High-level Detail Phase follows in August and September, offering a more in-depth FAQ, a preliminary schedule, and a submission form for selected works. The Detailed Schedule Phase in October and November finalizes with a comprehensive program schedule.

The website has five primary objectives: announcing festival information, providing FAQs on logistics, managing RSVPs, soliciting work submissions, and delivering a detailed schedule, all tailored to different user groups from the public to private attendees. Security is prioritized to protect the information of high-profile attendees.

Multiple user-specific tracks are planned, including separate portals for public inquiries, creator submissions, and supporter or industry interactions, with some sections reserved for private access. The design will draw inspiration from successful festivals like On-Air Fest, XOXO Fest, and Sundance, aiming to create an engaging and informative platform.

This project will NOT include website development.

Help us grow a key component of IMI Fest and become part of a groundbreaking event that celebrates independent media. With your work you'll help facilitate a festival website that draws inspiration from major events like Sundance playing a key role in its smooth execution. This is your chance to engage directly with the vibrant world of independent media. Your contribution will support the festival's success and help maintain its high standards.

For the IMI Fest project, we have meticulously outlined our needs and thoroughly examined most user experiences to ensure smooth interactions. Additionally, we have initiated the festival's website, which features examples from last year's events, providing insights and expectations for this year's functions. These steps are part of our comprehensive preparation to ensure the festival meets its objectives and offers a memorable experience for all attendees.

Nonprofit Overview

The Independent Media Initiative (IMI) supports online content creators who share
educational content on platforms such as YouTube, podcasts, and TikTok. Through a
combination of direct support, mentored fellowships, and community-building programs we will
create an ecosystem of independent media creators with the vision and skills to produce
high-quality and engaging educational content for the public good. Public investment in media
brought Fred Rogers, Julia Child, and Big Bird to the world in the 20th century. Our goal at IMI is
to bring that tradition into the 21st century and beyond.
