Project Overview

We are seeking a skilled volunteer to assist our nonprofit organization in developing our case for support.

This document will tell our story, our impact, and our needs for use in securing grant opportunities. This project involves creating compelling narratives that effectively communicate the essence of our work, the positive changes we have facilitated, and the specific needs we have to continue and expand our mission. Your contributions will play a crucial role in securing funding and support from grantors, helping us to sustain and grow our programs.

Key aspects of this work would include a focus on storytelling, impact documentation, and needs documentation. Our volunteer will:
- Gather information about our organization’s history, mission, and key milestones.
- Craft a cohesive and engaging narrative that highlights our journey, values, and the community we serve.
- Illustrate the tangible benefits and long-term changes brought about by our efforts.
- Clearly organize and document the current and future needs of the organization.
- Clearly articulate the resources required to address these needs and achieve our goals.
- Provide a compelling case for support that aligns with the priorities and interests of potential grantors.

NOSH Delivers! was started in 2020 in response to a spike in food insecurity in our community caused by the pandemic. While the pandemic emergency is behind us, factors such as inflation have caused our community to continue to struggle to feed themselves and their families in dignified, healthy ways. NOSH recently moved into a new space that allows us to store more food, process more donations, and provide more meal bags to families. We are eager to access funds that will allow us to grow our operations so we can more effectively meet community need for food access! The NOSH team looks forward to connecting with a skilled professional to help us capture, package, and share our story so we can feed those in need in Long Island.

The Board is prepared to directly support a skilled volunteer who would connect directly with our organization. Board Secretary Erin Connell will be the main point of contact; she is the CPO at a nonprofit board development organization and has a background in nonprofit management and consulting. Once complete, the deliverables produced through this project will be used to support NOSH in applying to grants going forward, and may also be utilized to strengthen other fundraising efforts and collateral, such as our annual appeal.
