I would like a skilled volunteer to work in coordination with another volunteer to create the first part of a 3 part class (each part 2 months long). The first beginning class will be on cognitive therapy and the other beginning class is on trauma-based therapy. Each class will be taught to our clients being treated for addiction in a 6-month, inpatient setting. Each class should begin by teaching fundamentals of the subject matter. Also, there should be a plan for what should be taught, additionally in each class for each week of the 2-month class. Having a book that talks about each subject and breaks it down to fundamentals will help you create this class. There should be 8 weeks in this first class on fundamentals.This will be the first class created in a project where we will give knowledge of trauma-based and cognitive therapies, first on the most basic level, introducing terms and teaching how to use them in daily life. Most treatment programs are devoid of this depth of learning which is why they fail. Unless the inside of the addict is dealt with, meaning unless their inner trauma is dealt with, they eventually return to addiction, and why there is a revolving door. We want to treat in a way that the treatment becomes permanent and the addict stays sober. The treatment we offer, they usually cannot get unless they can afford to pay for it. We want to make it available to the masses of people who don't have the means to have it as an option.We have the structure ready to move forward and will post the other 2 parts to write as soon as this part has it's 2 volunteers. This will surely be utilized in the program as will be parts 2 and 3 of this process.
