Session Overview
Bags Into Beds is in need of a board and board development. The seats are currently filled by the nonprofit employees to meet the needs of our bylaws but we are reaching a critical point where a proper and supportive board will be imperative to sustain our growth. As a young nonprofit, any guidance is very much appreciated.
Nonprofit Overview
Bags Into Beds uses plastic bags and other soft plastics as a plush stuffing in beds for the homeless inhabiting southern California. The immediate goal of the project is to prevent plastic films from entering landfills, waterways and other natural areas while repurposing the plastic for something of greater use. We are currently focused on refining the concept to better serve the near 60,000 homeless individuals in L.A. seeking the support from homeless shelters.
