Session Overview
As a budding organization we have garnered active media attention, sponsorships, and a dedicated Board. However, we are now working to ensure that our accounting and responsibilities to the IRS are executed properly. A consultation on what forms we MUST be filling out, especially in relation to the charitable donations we received, will be endlessly helpful.

Nonprofit Overview
Ride to DC is a Black female founded non-profit organization that utilizes cycling as a vessel for promoting vital social change. Our foremost mission consists of three pillars of action: raising awareness, increasing access, and cultivating culture. Through bicycling programming, we are raising awareness of the racial disparity in the cycling community, the racial profiling on BIPOC cyclists, and the resulting disparity in policing of people of color while on bikes. We are fighting for BIPOC accessibility to affordable bikes, safer roads, and cycling infrastructures in their communities. Lastly, we have successfully began cultivating a culture of diversity in which the cycling community can redefine what a cyclist looks like.
Our inaugural event was a 130 participant bike protest from NYC to Washington DC. This ride was over 300 miles and was completed in six days, culminating in our community joining, supporting, and participating in the Commitment March on Washington on August 28, 2020. It is now officially recorded as the longest and largest bike protest in US History.
