What a year, Taproot Community! With your support, we continue to grow skills-based volunteering and expand resources to nonprofits by empowering investments of time and talent. Here are a few of our favorite moments from 2024:
Partnered with forward-thinking companies and grantmakers
We are proud to have worked with more than 40 corporate and grantmaking partners throughout 2024, co-creating programs that harness the expertise of their employees and grantees to achieve greater impact.
Empowering nonprofits and making a difference
Taproot delivered pro bono to thousands of nonprofits and mobilized an even greater number of skilled volunteers. We also launched a Nonprofit Resiliency Survey and gathered insights from over 500 professionals to better understand nonprofit needs (results coming soon!) and throughout December, we’ll be mobilizing additional volunteers to match with open Taproot Plus projects (join Taproot Live!).
New ideas to grow the skilled volunteerism movement
Taproot partnered with Johnson & Johnson to release “Impact at Scale: A Blueprint for Global Skills-Based Volunteering,” a framework for multinational companies looking to broaden their volunteerism efforts. We also released our newly updated Pro Bono Valuation, which puts a monetary value on each hour of skills-based volunteer service. Both tools demonstrate Taproot’s commitment to leading the field in innovation and best practices.
Celebrated and convened as a community
We hosted a dynamic gathering of cross-sector partners from across corporate, philanthropic, and nonprofit fields for a revival of our in-person U.S. Pro Bono Summit, themed “Better Together,” held in New York. We bid a fond farewell, to Lindsay Gruber, Taproot CEO who spent an incredible 20 years leading our work as a “Root,” and welcomed new CEO Cat Ward who will lead Taproot into a new era of innovation and impact.
Throughout 2024, we came together to support thousands of organizations, connect communities, and drive meaningful change.
