I'm hoping to find a PR consultant who can help me build out a media list and a strategy! Bonus if you know the Chicago landscape.

I'm very new in my role of Director of Development and Communications (just 3 months in!), and this is a brand new role for the organization. I juggle a lot of things, and media relations is something that always falls through the cracks (especially because I have no expertise in this area). I'd love to have someone who can help me plot out some next (baby) steps for our media presence, help craft a solid strategy, put together a list of hyper-local and local publications and stations, build out some pitchable opps and maybe templates, and give me some guidance on implementation.

Revolution Workshop is building skills, hope, and resilience in Chicago's west and south side communities through construction job training. We're only 2.5 years old, but we really do have a powerful story to tell. I just need help finding the right people to tell it to.

I'm working to build out a solid communication foundation for the organization, and with a lot of the groundwork in place (or in place soon), building out a PR strategy and media list is the next step. Upcoming efforts that seem press-worthy include recruiting for a new cohort of trainees (we do this quarterly), our 3rd anniversary, ongoing stories of alumni success, a fall fundraising event, and a co-branded content opportunity with a local brewery.

I am currently working through key messages for the organization, have a high-level development and communications strategy, and hope to have a basic framework for a case for support soon—all of which will inform a PR strategy. Once the strategy, list, and maybe even some templates are built out, I'll be ready to run with it!
