Roots of Success is an empowering environmental educational program that prepares youth and adults who come from communities heavily impacted by poverty, unemployment, and environmental injustice for environmental careers and to improve conditions in their communities. Roots of Success delivers its program in two ways (1) through in person instruction in a classroom setting and (2) through a digital platform that students take on their own computer or tablet.

The digital version of Roots of Success has received excellent reviews for its content. However, the technology and fluidity of the interface can be challenging and slightly cumbersome. Therefore, a review and update is in order. There are two goals for this project:

GOALS
1) Evaluate ROS online Updating digital curriculum to determine how to incorporate technology features to enhance the student’s user online experience

2) Determine if we should use an existing online platform, and if so which application, or enhance the ROS platform we are using.

Our program is offered to adults and youth in prisons, jails, job training programs, reentry programs, high schools and youth programs. Since 2010, over 25,000 students have taken our course; many are now employed in good "green" family-supporting jobs. We are heavily dependent on probono support to accomplish our mission and goals and would greatly appreciate any support you can provide. We have very carefully thought through and developed our proposal for pro bono support. We are very experienced in delivering educational programming to our partners and will be able to immediately implement any recommendations made by the Tipping Point team.
