1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. And according to American Cancer Society, black women are 40% more likely to die from this disease. Our goal is to address this disparity by educating young black girls and women from low-income families, about Breast Health, Breast Cancer, Risk Factors and Risk Reduction. Through this program, we aim to educate, motivate and move black girls and women to take action with their breast health.
We would like to use Wordpress.
We have our colors, images and logos.
Our target audience: young girls - adult women.
Our stakeholders: community-based organizations that provide support to young girls and women; sponsors, breast cancer survivors.
Once the project is complete, we will be reaching out to community based organizations to inform them about the program and will be directing them to our site to sign up.
We will also create cards with a QR CODE that will link back to this page. These cards will be provided to our program attendees for them to hand them out to the community. The goal is to help stop the silence about beast health and to encourage others to sign-up for the program as well.
Visitors to our page will also have the opportunity to sign up for our mailing list and receive a free digital Self Breast Exam card.
