Project Overview
We would need a volunteer to help us complete our website with copyrighting, organizing the pages, ensuring proper setup of accepting donations online and merchandise purchases, setting up registration pages for events and events page.Up to 1 in 5 women suffer from Maternal Mental Health (MMH) disorders in the U.S. each year. Research shows that this number has more than doubled during the pandemic. Less than 15% of women diagnosed with a maternal mental health disorder receive treatment. With increased demand and barriers to mental health care because of the pandemic, even fewer moms received treatment. Roughly 1 in 5 women are not asked about depression during prenatal visits despite universal screening being recommended. Up to 50% of women living in poverty will suffer from a maternal mental health disorder. 34% of new mothers report experiencing a traumatic childbirth. Up to fifteen percent (15%) of women will develop anxiety during pregnancy or after childbirth. 70-100% of women (and their partners) have “intrusive” thoughts surrounding childbirth/the postpartum period. Now, more than ever, it is important to address barriers to maternal mental health care and treatment. Helping us to design our website will help to ensure clear messaging on our purpose and efforts to be effective and compelling to join and be a part of!We have already started with a website through wixsite at consciousmomsla.org and created some pages. Once our website is complete, we will gain the trust and attention of consumers, sponsors and the community to further the efforts of our Conscious Moms nonprofit.
