Strategic Planning Facilitation

I am looking for someone who is skilled at Strategic Planning. Our organization is in need of someone who has the skill set to support an organization that has been around for 35 years and needs to revamp our strategic plan. We have doubled in size and also financially and need someone who can support a multi-program organization with various generations within our workforce. We are looking for a volunteer to work with us from start to finish of the entire strategic plan process. We would need someone to facilitate strategic planning sessions and if available, someone to draft a concise strategic plan that we can use to guide our work. I can support in coordinating the strategic plan sessions with our staff of 47. We would need someone who is able to work with us between these days and times M-F 11-4p.

Esperanza Community Housing Corporation is a social justice non-profit in South Central Los Angeles that achieves long-term, comprehensive community development. We work towards developing a strong, prosperous, healthy community with a holistic approach that includes program in housing, health, economic development, arts and culture, and environmental justice. We support initiatives for healthier communities and sustainable development through health equity, affordable housing, economic opportunity, and art and culture experiences.

Staff feel like we are "everywhere". We need a "north star" to guide our work and ensure that the tasks we get involved with are directly connected with our overall plan as well as the financial/resource means to complete our tasks. This would help ground us and inspire us to do the best work we can and support our communities, especially in this current climate.

As the Associate Director, I am charged with checking in with our managing staff and ensuring we carry out this plan. We will use this plan to guide the important work we do and be more impactful with a focused approach. I am dedicated to supporting the volunteer in getting whatever information is needed to complete this task.

Previously, I have begun hosting visioning sessions and created the skeleton of various programs/departments and who would need to be part of the multi process planning. I created a plan to carry out the strategic plan but over time my capacity has waned. I have also gotten feedback from staff that I should be included as a participant and not facilitating.

I can prep the volunteer with the organizational details, SWOT analysis that has been done and the uprooted challenges the organization has expressed in previous sessions.
