Mental Health Mobile App Development
What We’re Looking For:
Experience in mobile app design and development (iOS and Android).
Strong knowledge of UI/UX principles, especially for youth-centered apps.
Ability to integrate video-sharing platforms and scheduling features.
Familiarity with secure data practices and HIPAA compliance is a plus.
Creative problem solver with a passion for mental health and wellness.
The app will give youth the ability to identify what they’re going through—whether it’s depression, anxiety, trauma, or mood swings—and immediately access strategies, videos, and resources that can help them cope in the moment. It will also provide a seamless pathway to connect with our therapists, mentors, or group programs, ensuring no young person is left without support when they need it most.
For volunteers, this project is an opportunity to use your skills to make a life-changing impact. Your work will not just create an app—it will create hope, reduce stigma, and open doors for hundreds of youth to get the help they need to thrive in school, at home, and in life.
We are committed to setting this project up for success by laying a strong foundation before development begins. Internally, our leadership and program staff are fully aligned on the goals of the app and how it will enhance our ability to serve youth with mental health needs. We’ve gained buy-in across our organization, including from therapists, mentors, and administrative staff, to ensure the app’s content and features are relevant and effective.
We have already gathered educational materials, coping strategies, and resource guides that will be featured in the app. Our team has also reviewed and documented the most common challenges youth share with us, such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and mood regulation, so that the app will launch with meaningful, evidence-based content.
