We're looking for a volunteer with experience setting up an accounting and bookkeeping system and/or software from scratch! You'll help us determine which software best meets our needs, and then set up regular recording, reconciliation, and reporting practices by spending 20-25 hours with us over 4-5 weeks. In our first meeting, we'll share a detailed description of our existing financial record-keeping and reporting systems and you'll share options for software. In phase one of the project, you'll migrate our data over to our new software and help us set up our account administrator privileges. In the second phase, you will provide our Executive Director with basic training on how to use the software. Please note that as part of this, we need to set up a payroll system to pay one employee, as well as a mechanism to pay consultants (some recurring and some one-time payments). We ask that you make yourself available for up to two weeks to address our questions as we adjust to the new software and systems.
United Family Advocates' mission is to advance bipartisan solutions that strengthen investments in and support for families within their homes and communities. As we transition out of our fiscal sponsorship now that we have tax-exempt status, setting up our accounting and bookkeeping for transparency, ease, and impact is critical to our success.
We recently obtained our tax-exempt status from the IRS, set up a Bank of America business fundamentals checking and savings account, and prepared to have all of our remaining funds transferred from our fiscal sponsor into this account. You will be working directly with our Executive Director, who is currently a team of one!
