Financial Analysis

Help us strengthen our financial planning! We are looking for a volunteer finance professional to help us assess our current financial situation and think through our budget for the next 3 years.

Our organization has been growing over the past 6 years--our staff and budgeted have doubled in size, and we have grown our cash reserves. However, we are looking ahead to a period of uncertainty--for us as an organization (eg, several big grants are ending) as well as our field, on top of the broader uncertainty in the nonprofit/philanthropy landscape. We would definitely benefit from an outside, experienced perspective on our current and future financial position to help us make sound budgeting decisions for the next three years--eg, how much to keep in cash reserves.

We predict that this finance project will take from 35-45 hours to complete, including time to get up to speed on our current financial situation and our future prospects. We're hoping that our pro bono partner will share three to five hours of their time each week with our team.

Our audience tells us that our work is needed now more than ever, delivering resources for hope, compassion, and resilience to millions of people worldwide--and your time and expertise will enable us to continue to serve them well into the future. We want to make sure that we are planning as responsibly as possible for the years ahead, and we are excited and grateful for your help doing so.

To prepare for this project, we have projected budgets for the next three years. We will share access to this financial information, along with more details about our financial prospects moving forward. We plan to implement the recommendations of this project by updating our budgets and creating a more detailed financial plan for the next three years.
