NYC Volunteer Photographer Needed on Monday, October 28

First Responders Children’s Foundation (FRCF) will host a special National First Responders Day ceremony in the heart of Times Square, honoring first responder heroes from across the country. This event will bring together New York City’s first responder leadership, distinguished guests, and families of heroes who serve and sacrifice for our communities every day.

We are seeking a volunteer photographer to donate their time and talent to capture the impact and emotion of this important event.
Event: National First Responders Day Ceremony
Date & Time: Monday, October 28, 2025 | 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM (arrivals begin 10:30 AM; ceremony starts 11:00 AM)
Location: Times Square, New York City

Primary Responsibilities
- Photograph guests, honorees, and leadership in front of the branded step & repeat
- Experience in shooting step and repeats in a quick and professional manner, and using direct fill flash to adapt to changing lighting conditions. Samples of work would be greatly appreciated.
- Capture post-ceremony photos of leadership and honorees with their awards
- Provide a complete gallery of high-quality photos (digital) to the Foundation within 24–48 hours following the event.

Secondary Responsibilities
Capture the ceremony, including speaker remarks, hero awards, audience reactions, and special moments.

Ideal Volunteer
- Experienced in event photography (professional or advanced amateur).
- Comfortable photographing both posed and candid moments.
- Owns professional camera equipment.
- Prepared for outdoor, natural lighting and various weather conditions — this event is rain or shine.
- Comfortable moving throughout the event space quickly, keeping a low profile, and capturing various angles
- Passionate about supporting first responders and giving back to the community.

Time Commitment
- In advance prep call: Friday, October 25, time TBC
- Review the ROS, event layout
- Meet other photographers and FRCF event staff leads

On-site:
- Monday, October 28, from 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM.

Deliver a full gallery of digital photos within 48 hours of the event.
Your photos will help us share the stories of America’s first responder heroes with our national community of supporters. This is an opportunity to use your creative talent to make a meaningful impact — honoring those who protect and serve.
You will be accompanied by a fellow professional photographer and provided with example photos from previous years.
