The WildRoot Collective is seeking a skilled strategic planning or communications professional to help us refine and clearly articulate our mission and vision statements.

As a newly founded nonprofit, we have a strong sense of purpose and community roots, but we need expert guidance to translate our ideas into clear, inspiring, and actionable language that captures who we are and where we’re going.

During this project, the volunteer will:

-Facilitate a collaborative discovery session with our founding team to uncover key themes and organizational goals
-Review existing materials, including our current mission draft, program descriptions, and strategic goals
-Help us clarify our core values, target audience, and intended community impact
-Draft and refine mission and vision statements that are concise, memorable, and aligned with our long-term strategy
-Provide recommendations on how to integrate these statements across marketing, fundraising, and program materials

This project will result in a refined mission and vision that serve as our compass for growth, partnership, and communication.
The WildRoot Collective’s mission is to cultivate healing, justice, and connection through intergenerational programs, food sovereignty education, and cultural resilience.

Developing clear, aligned mission and vision statements will:

Strengthen our organizational identity and strategic direction

Improve our ability to communicate impact to funders, partners, and the public

Ensure all programs and partnerships are guided by a shared purpose and long-term vision

Lay a strong foundation for future branding, fundraising, and program design efforts

By helping us define our mission and vision, the volunteer will play a vital role in shaping how The WildRoot Collective grows and serves our community for years to come.
We’ve gathered existing materials that express our purpose and programs, including our founding narrative, community focus areas, and guiding principles. Our core leadership team is prepared to engage in meaningful dialogue, share feedback promptly, and collaborate openly throughout the process.

We’ll schedule structured meetings to ensure the volunteer has access to all the information and insights needed to produce thoughtful and authentic statements. Once finalized, we’ll integrate the new mission and vision into our strategic plan, website, and grant materials, ensuring immediate implementation.

Organization Mission

The WildRoot Collective is a Georgia-based nonprofit and social enterprise committed to justice-centered community building, collective liberation, community wellness, and food sovereignty. Our hybrid model integrates earned income from mission-driven businesses—Wild Lit Books and Wild Grounds Coffee Company—with community-centered nonprofit programming. In partnership with our community, we address food injustice, social isolation, and the absence of joyful, nourishing spaces—grounding our work in land, culture, and collective learning. Our approach is bold yet grounded: profit supports purpose, and our community is at the center of everything we do. To cultivate healing, justice, and connection through intergenerational programs, food sovereignty education, and cultural resilience, rooted in a vision of collective liberation.
