We’re looking for a skilled volunteer to help Culture Kids Productions develop a thoughtful earned income and business strategy that can guide our nonprofit toward long-term sustainability. For the past three years, our small volunteer team has poured our hearts into creating an award-winning podcast that helps children and families learn about cultures around the world through storytelling, music, and imagination. We’ve built a strong foundation — over 150 episodes, 80 collaborations with cultural organizations, and recognition from Apple Podcasts and the Webby Awards — but we currently have no steady revenue stream to support our growing mission.

We’d be so grateful for a volunteer who can help us:

Identify realistic earned income opportunities that align with our mission (like educational products, licensing, sponsorships, or live experiences).

Develop a clear business plan that outlines potential revenue models, audience segments, and implementation steps.

Build a short- and long-term roadmap for financial growth that allows us to continue offering our content free for families.

Share guidance on maintaining balance between mission and monetization, ensuring that every strategy supports our values of belonging and cultural connection.

This project would help us move from a passion project to a sustainable organization — one that can continue inspiring children and families for years to come.
By helping Culture Kids Productions develop a sustainable income strategy, you’ll be supporting much more than a podcast or a nonprofit. You’ll be helping strengthen a community platform built to connect children, families, and cultural organizations around the world.

Culture Kids is a collaborative project created by and for the community. Through our award-winning podcast and partnerships with over 80 cultural institutions, we’ve built a space where families can explore the world together and every child can feel seen, valued, and included. But we currently operate entirely through volunteer support and need a clear path toward sustainability.

Your expertise will help us identify meaningful ways to generate income through educational partnerships, licensing, and community programs so this platform can continue growing and uplifting the voices of real people and cultures everywhere. Together, we can ensure that Culture Kids remains a living, thriving community project that belongs to everyone.
We’re deeply committed to making this project successful and meaningful for both our volunteer partner and our organization. Our board and core team are fully aligned on the need to develop a clear and sustainable income strategy, and we’ve already gathered key background materials, including past partnership data, audience insights, and our three-year strategic goals.

We’ve also completed several foundational projects—such as defining our brand identity and expanding our partnerships with over 80 cultural organizations—which have given us a strong platform to build from. Our team has clear communication channels in place, and we’re prepared to dedicate the time needed each week to provide feedback, data, and support.

Once the project is complete, we plan to implement the volunteer’s recommendations immediately by integrating them into our strategic plan and board discussions. Our small but passionate team is ready to take ownership of next steps, ensuring that the volunteer’s work leads to lasting, measurable growth for Culture Kids Productions.

We’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with a volunteer and are committed to creating a thoughtful, organized, and rewarding experience together.

Organization Mission

Culture Kids Productions is an award-winning nonprofit organization and family podcast dedicated to fostering a global mindset in every child. We take young listeners on imaginative adventures to explore the traditions, stories, foods, languages, and animals from various cultures around the world. Beyond teaching customs, we focus on the individuals and families behind them. By partnering with families, cultural organizations, educators, and authors, we highlight authentic voices and lived experiences, making each episode personal and meaningful. Our goal is to help children grow up curious, open-hearted, and connected to the world around them. Through these shared stories, Culture Kids builds bridges between communities—one joyful journey at a time. As one 6-year-old listener shared, our show "creates love around the world." Inspired by Darren Hardy’s The Compound Effect, we believe that small, consistent actions can lead to extraordinary change. By introducing children to the wonders of global cultures in an engaging, heartfelt way, we plant the seeds of curiosity, empathy, and understanding that will grow into compassionate, collaborative individuals. We recognize that when cultural education is absent in a child's early years, the void of knowledge can lead to misunderstandings. Over time, this can breed fear and division. Our mission is to break this cycle by cultivating a brighter, more connected world—one where children embrace differences with curiosity, build connections through shared experiences, and form lasting friendships that transcend cultural backgrounds. Grounded in heartfelt storytelling, our approach helps children not only understand but deeply connect with the cultures around them. We aim to nurture a love for humanity and exploration, empowering kids to lead with empathy, foster meaningful relationships, and become champions of a more unified, peaceful world. Together, we are shaping a generation that will build a future where understanding and connection unite us all.
