We're seeking a volunteer to develop a practical board succession strategy. Deliverables may include target member profiles and skill sets, a clear recruitment and onboarding process, and a recommended board structure (committees, roles, term limits). Optional materials may include sample role descriptions, outreach language, and a phased transition approach. Specific details will be refined during interviews.
By guiding Friends of the Ixchel Museum in recruiting and transitioning to a next-generation board, volunteers will help secure governance and networks needed to preserve and promote the Mayan textile tradition and support Museo Ixchel’s long-term sustainability. This work will directly strengthen stewardship of this cultural legacy.
Board leadership recognizes the need for renewal and will engage with volunteers through discovery interviews. Volunteers will collaborate with staff and board liaisons, iterate drafts, and receive timely feedback to ensure recommendations are actionable and adopted.
