Review existing accounting and chapter finance arrangements, recommend a centralized structure that respects federated chapters, draft finance policies and processes aligned with the organization’s size, develop an implementation plan with action steps, and assist with execution. Specific details will be provided during volunteer interviews.
This project will strengthen financial stewardship across federated chapters, improve compliance, and free staff time to focus on programs. Volunteers will help create sustainable, context-aware systems that build capacity and amplify the organization’s mission while practicing cultural humility and partnership.
We will share current financial records, chapter structures, and compliance obligations. Our team will collaborate closely with volunteers through interviews and document sharing to ensure recommendations are actionable and ready for implementation.

Organization Mission

Hack4Impact mobilizes software engineering and computer science to address the unique technical challenges facing nonprofit organizations. We build bridges between technology expertise and community needs, creating solutions that amplify our partners' impact. Our diverse community of students and chapters partner with nonprofits in their local communities to address the gaps in technology that would better help the nonprofit achieve their mission or expand their reach. Our teams provide technical education to our students, real world experience, and connects them to meaningful work that sustains. We recognize that technology is never neutral, it reflects the values and priorities of those who create it. As developers with specialized knowledge, Hack4Impact champions responsibility when working with communities. Success requires cultural humility, deep listening, and a commitment to building sustainable solutions alongside our partners rather than for them.
