We Are Here (Map) - Mobile First MVP Prototype

We seek a skilled volunteer to help build a lightweight, mobile-first MVP prototype for We Are Here, a newly registered UK charity using technology to make homelessness support visible, accessible, and interconnected.

The goal is to create a clickable prototype or demo that shows how people in crisis can instantly find nearby shelters, food banks, mental health support, and legal aid, and how grassroots organizations can connect and collaborate more effectively.

Our first dataset is ready, our pilot partners (including Crisis, The Passage, and New Horizon Youth Centre) are prepared to test, and committed funders are waiting to invest once this proof of concept is built.

Your expertise will transform preparation into impact, unlocking funding, visibility, and hope for people in crisis and the organizations supporting them.

By partnering with a volunteer to create a fundable MVP, we’ll move from concept to concrete impact - showcasing a working model that funders, partners, and service users can experience and believe in.

Your contribution will directly:

1) Prove the potential of accessible data and design to tackle hidden homelessness.
2) Shorten time in crisis by connecting individuals and families to vital resources faster.
3) Strengthen collaboration between frontline organizations, helping them reach people more efficiently.

We are ready and organized, and we have:

- Need validated through surveys and outreach
- A 12-person volunteer team with expertise in data, UX, and digital safety
- Registered UK Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO)
- First dataset of 100+ verified services in London
- Technical clarity: MVP features and data structure mapped

Once complete, the MVP will be used for pilot testing, funding applications, and storytelling- turning years of preparation into tangible social change.
