Work with a volunteer to prepare and complete the organization's annual IRS Form 990-EZ and any required schedules, review financial totals for consistency, and produce a filing-ready packet with brief notes for submission. Specific documents and timelines will be provided during interviews.

Completing an accurate, timely Form 990-EZ supports Alekain's compliance and transparency, enabling us to continue providing laptops, internet, mentorship, and pathways to education for girls and young women in Afghanistan. Volunteer help here directly sustains our ability to serve students.

Details will be provided during volunteer interviews. We will coordinate access to our financial records and prior filings, assign a primary point of contact, and be available for regular check-ins so the volunteer can complete the return on schedule and hand off filing instructions.

Alekain is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to accredited secondary education and higher education opportunities for girls and young women in Afghanistan who are currently barred from attending school. Through our partnership with Smart Schools International, we provide students with laptops, internet access, mentorship, academic support, and pathways to higher education. We believe that education blooms even in adversity, and we are building an ecosystem of support that honors resilience, dignity, and human potential.
