Conduct an initial needs assessment and one-on-one consultation, produce a tailored training curriculum, run at least three coached practice sessions (donor pitches and emcee scenarios) with real-time feedback, provide scripts, checklists, tip sheets, and video/written resources, and deliver a final performance review and summary report. Virtual or in-person. Details will be provided.
Improved public speaking and emcee skills will strengthen donor engagement, increase fundraising effectiveness, and elevate the festival’s public presence. This enables 100Reporters to better communicate investigative findings, build accountability, and broaden audience and donor support. Volunteers will directly bolster the director’s public representation.
Begin with a one-on-one consultation and review of past presentations, confirm the director's availability for rehearsals, and coordinate scheduling and materials so recommendations can be implemented. Specific logistics, timelines, and any supporting materials will be provided during volunteer interviews.

Organization Mission

100Reporters is a nonprofit investigative news organization whose mission is to “inform the public’s right to know through investigative journalism, adapting traditional tools and standards of ethics and excellence to the new media landscape, and working with whistleblowers and citizen watchdogs to expose corruption and heightened public accountability.” It does this by publishing investigative reports by journalists in the United States and overseas, lending the organization’s resources, experience, contacts, and legal protections to advance accountability reporting, especially in places that do not tolerate a free press. It further serves this mission through Double Exposure, the United States' first and only investigative film festival and professional symposium. The festival “informs the public’s right to know” by screening compelling new films, while the symposium supports text-based journalists as they adapt to new forms of storytelling on film and in podcasts and builds vital journalistic skills among filmmakers venturing into investigative territory.
