Technical WordPress Website Cleanup

We’re looking for a volunteer to help us complete a targeted technical cleanup of the COPELI website (https://copeli.org/) so that it meets basic functionality standards and becomes eligible for the Google Ad Grant program.

This is a short-term, well-defined project that fits comfortably within a few weeks of 2–5 hours per week.

The main tasks we need support with are:
- Fixing all broken internal and external links across the website.
- Updating or removing outdated plugins and ensuring compatibility with the current version of our CMS (WordPress).
- Improving essential performance metrics, including image optimization, loading speed, and caching settings.
- Ensuring core usability requirements, such as mobile responsiveness and clear, functional page layouts.

We are not requesting a full redesign or new content development — just the technical repairs and tune-ups necessary to stabilize the site and pass Google’s Ad Grant quality checks.

This project directly strengthens our mission by helping COPELI reach more people who can support clean water, education, nutrition, and sustainable development for children in Greece, Tanzania, and Colombia. A cleaner, faster, and compliant website will allow us to fully use the Google Ad Grant, expand our visibility, attract long-term sponsors, and share our impact with a wider audience.

We're setting this project up for success by having everything ready for the volunteer from day one. Our team is fully aligned on the goals, and we’ve prepared all necessary materials — including website admin access, a list of known issues, and the Google Ad Grant requirements.

We’ve also assigned one dedicated point of contact to ensure quick communication and fast decision-making. Once the cleanup is complete, our team will maintain the improvements using a simple internal checklist, ensuring the volunteer’s work has long-lasting impact.
