PLEP Pilot Program Design
We have a clear concept for PLEP and early outlines of the participant journey, but we need expert support to turn this into a rigorous, implementation-ready pilot. Specifically, we are seeking help to:
1. Translate our vision into a clear logic model that links inputs, activities, outputs, and short- and long-term outcomes.
2. Clarify the core components of the pathway (e.g., outreach, assessment, coaching, application support, funding guidance, and first-term success support).
3. Define eligibility, dosage (how often participants engage), and key milestones from enrollment through program completion.
4. Outline the human and financial resources required to deliver the pilot, along with practical monitoring and evaluation tools we can realistically use with a small team.
The goal is a step-by-step PLEP pilot design that we can test with an initial cohort and then refine and scale.
This project will:
- Turn our PLEP concept into a coherent, evidence-informed program that veterans can rely on from the moment they start exploring school through their first successful term.
- Give us a clear theory of change and measurable outcomes so we can demonstrate impact to universities, funders, and community partners.
- Help us allocate our limited staff and budget to the activities that matter most for veteran education success, laying the foundation for future cohorts and expansion.
In short, your work on this pilot will shape how we guide veterans into and through education for years to come, directly influencing their ability to secure meaningful credentials, careers, and long-term stability.
- Assign a senior leader as project sponsor and a dedicated point of contact to coordinate schedules, share materials, and make decisions quickly.
- Provide a packet of background resources, including our existing program concepts, target beneficiary profiles, draft curricula, and notes from prior stakeholder conversations.
- Share data on our current programs (where available), including enrollment patterns, participant needs, and early outcomes, to ground design decisions in reality.
- Hold a structured kickoff to align on objectives, scope, timeline (4–6 weeks), and deliverables, and schedule regular check-ins to review drafts and remove roadblocks.
We will commit to timely feedback, direct communication, and openness to iteration so the volunteer’s expertise can translate into a clear, usable pilot design.
