TechFIN seeks a skilled volunteer to help clarify a thoughtful and sustainable social media approach. The team aims to understand which platforms matter most for an organization focused on community access, what content formats reach partners and funders effectively, and what internal habits support consistency without overwhelming staff.

The volunteer will review the current social presence, assess gaps, and outline a practical engagement plan that fits our scale. This includes guidance on platform selection, content themes, posting cadence, a simple content calendar structure, and metrics that reflect community impact rather than vanity counts.

The goal is to conclude with a realistic plan that our small team can maintain after the project ends.
This project will strengthen how TechFIN connects with the communities we serve. Our mission centers on expanding digital access for families facing barriers to technology. A clearer and more intentional social media presence will help reach more households, engage new partners, and highlight resources that reduce the digital gap.

By helping us focus energy and craft messages that resonate, the volunteer will support efforts to share device distribution opportunities, announce community events, spotlight repair workshops, and build relationships with local leaders. Stronger engagement means more families hear about services when they need them and helps share outcomes with funders and community partners committed to equitable access.

The volunteer's work will amplify stories that often go unseen and shape how we communicate impact, invite community involvement, and inspire support for a mission centered on opportunity and connection.
Our Executive Director will lead initial interviews to ensure alignment on expectations and scope. Once selected, the volunteer will meet regularly with the Executive Director and a small group of board members prepared to provide context, share materials, and make decisions quickly. Existing content, platform links, program summaries, and outreach history are organized for review. Recommendations will be applied directly to our communications workflow and engagement efforts.

Organization Mission

TechFIN helps narrow the digital divide by addressing a major hurdle to computer hardware ownership: its cost. By collecting used laptops and desktop computers, in bulk, from corporations, we are able to revitalize these machines and distribute them to low-income households at no cost to them. Our solution is sustainable, scalable, and cost-effective.
