Salesforce CRM Buildout & Implementation Initiative
The volunteer will help us with the initial setup, customization, and configuration of Salesforce. This includes:
- Setting up our Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud environment
- Creating a clean data structure for contacts, members, donors, partners, and stakeholders
- Building workflows for membership tracking, including join dates, renewal dates, and membership status
- Setting up event registration tracking so we can manage webinar and event participation directly in Salesforce
- Configuring donation tracking, including one‑time and recurring gifts, and integrating with our payment processor if feasible
- Creating dashboards or reports that help us understand membership trends, event engagement, and donor activity
- Assisting with the migration of essential data from our current system
- Advising on best practices for long‑term scalability and ease of use
We are not looking for a complex or fully automated system right away; we simply want a solid, well‑organized CRM foundation that we can build on over time. The volunteer’s expertise will help ensure that Salesforce is configured correctly from the start, so NAEHD can operate more efficiently and sustainably as we expand
By helping us set up Salesforce, the volunteer will be creating the foundation that supports all of our programs. This includes managing members who are committed to equity, tracking event participation for education and engagement, and organizing donor support that fuels our initiatives. With a strong CRM, we can communicate more effectively, understand who is engaging with our work, and make data‑driven decisions that strengthen our national impact.
The volunteer’s contribution will have a direct and lasting influence on our ability to advance equity. A functional CRM allows us to grow our network of advocates, strengthen partnerships with health systems and community organizations, and ensure that our resources and initiatives reach the people and institutions working to eliminate disparities. This project will help NAEHD operate with greater clarity, efficiency, and sustainability, which ultimately advances our mission to create equitable outcomes in every community.
Before launching this Taproot project, we evaluated our current systems, documented our pain points, and outlined the core workflows we want to build in Salesforce. We have already gathered our existing contact, membership, event, and donation data so it can be migrated efficiently. We have also reviewed Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud resources to ensure we understand the platform and can collaborate effectively with a volunteer.
Our Founder and CEO has prior experience using the Salesforce platform, which means we can communicate clearly about requirements, understand best practices, and maintain the system after the project is complete. This experience will help ensure the volunteer’s work is implemented smoothly and sustained long term.
Because NAEHD is small and agile, we can begin using Salesforce immediately once the CRM foundation is built. We will integrate it into our day‑to‑day operations for managing contacts, tracking members, registering event participants, and recording donations. This ensures the volunteer’s work will have an immediate and lasting impact.
We are committed to being an engaged, responsive partner throughout the project. We will provide timely feedback, clear communication, and all necessary materials so the volunteer can work efficiently within the 6‑week window. Our goal is to build a strong, sustainable CRM foundation that supports NAEHD’s mission and positions us for long‑term growth, and we are fully prepared to make the most of this pro bono partnership.
