We are seeking a volunteer to conduct a concise board effectiveness analysis report with findings and prioritized recommendations to increase board engagement. The volunteer will help define assessment questions, analyze input from board/staff, and draft an actionable plan and presentation materials for the executive director and board chair.
Stronger board engagement will improve King Manor Museum’s governance and capacity to advance programming that interprets Rufus King’s legacy and antislavery history. Volunteers will help the museum better support educational work that teaches critical thinking for a healthier democracy. We serve a low-income community and are a very small staff, so an effective and engaged board is key to keeping our operations strong and increasing our capacity to serve.
The executive director will be the primary contact and will work with the volunteer to refine scope and tools. Volunteers can expect access to stakeholders during interviews and will collaborate on a realistic, prioritized implementation plan.
