Website Development Updates: WordPress

Our website EQuipOurKids.org needs a WordPress expert to take it to another level as we grow our mission and ability to get millions of kids better educations. We have some important new sections to implement and others to modify. At a minimum, you can provide updates to existing pages. We will take that. If you also have design chops and can create wireframes and then finish new pages, posts, and portfolios, that would be great.

The EQuip Our Kids! Campaign (https://equipourkids.org) is a nonprofit advertising and marketing education campaign whose sole and huge vision is to galvanize the American public to include in every school's basic daily curriculum emotional intelligence education for students and staff, including emotional management and relationship and co-creativity social skills – to the demonstrated and evidence-based profound benefit of children, teens, adults, the schools, communities, and business (the economy) as a whole. In education circles, this curriculum is best known as Social and Emotional Learning (SEL). We are an independent nonprofit in pro bono service to the movement founded and led by educators and child-development experts.

Our belief is you will be helping the most important education reform and social movement of our time because of its potential to transform on a mass level human mindsets and behaviors that create so much pain, suffering, and conflict in the world, individually and collectively.

Children equipped with the range of EQ and other skills fare much better – they are more resilient and better able to adapt to change, better able to manage their feelings and actions, more able to cooperate and collaborate, to understand and be empathetic to others around them. Schools with comprehensive SEL see a sustained improvement in grades, attendance, student happiness, and emotional well-being in and out of school. These schools also see sustained decreases in violence, bullying, students experiencing depression and anxiety, suicides, dropout rates, and drug/alcohol use. So does society as these students grow into adulthood.

Apart from adding to your portfolio, know that our work in the world has been effective over five years, particularly with parents, and you will be personally contributing to its expansion, and we reach out to new target audiences, including students, civic organizations and different segments of the population.

You will be working with sophisticated marketing and editing leaders in a highly supportive, collaborative, and friendly atmosphere. We are grateful to our volunteers and show it. We work only within your time constraints and don't create pressure deadlines. Once each step is implemented, we will make it live immediately.
