Am I eligible to sign up as a small business?
We’re proud to have made Taproot Plus Sessions available to U.S.-based small businesses. To participate in Taproot Plus programming, you must meet our non-discrimination and non-proselytization eligibility requirements and provide organization details including but not limited to: EIN, mission statement, industry, community served, etc.
When funding allows, Taproot is able to invite community members to pro bono events or programs exclusive for specific cities, issue areas, or grantee cohorts. These partner programs have their own application process which you will receive information about through whichever email used to create your Taproot account.
How do I get started?
Getting started as a Taproot small business participant is simple! First, create your small business Taproot Plus account and provide basic information about your organization, such as your mission, team size, and revenue. Once approved, request a one-hour consultation session. Your request will be published to the Taproot Plus marketplace, for skilled volunteers to browse and apply for. If you have any questions along the way, reach out to the Taproot Plus Helpdesk—we’re here to support you!
What kind of help can I get through pro bono?

Can I have a small business and nonprofit account?
Yes, you can have both a small business and a nonprofit account on Taproot Plus. To do this, you’ll need to create separate accounts for each using different email addresses. This helps you keep track of each organization’s specific needs and manage volunteer opportunities more efficiently and effectively.
Are small business programs free?
Taproot's programs are completely free. We connect organizations dedicated to strengthening communities with skilled volunteers from the worlds of marketing, finance, HR, business strategy, IT, and operations with nonprofits, public schools, and small businesses.
