Project Overview

We are looking for a volunteer who can execute a database integration (SQL) into React native mobile application using node.js as the backend. We need the database to be able to store historic responsiveness data and then will be called upon to select the optimized learning media.

It is a pressing concern that people with learning disabilities across the globe are not receiving accommodating education which would help a student to engage and learn better. Addressing this critical issue is crucial to building a more inclusive society where all individuals, regardless of their abilities, have access to the education and support they need to succeed.

Here's how our app can make a real difference:
Personalized Learning: Tailored curriculum suggestions based on the user's strengths and weaknesses help them excel in academics.
Emotional Support: The app detects emotional fluctuations and offers coping strategies and built in breaks and alerts to manage stress and anxiety effectively.
Progress Tracking: Detailed progress reports allow users and their support network to monitor academic performance in real time and track improvements over time. It sends important alerts and tasks for an in-person educator to make, so that they may make every interaction with a student as purposeful as possible. This allows one teacher to have heightened efficiency when working with students, allowing them to increase their class size.

We are currently looking for volunteer software engineers to help us with the backend of our AI curriculum augmentation application, SEAL. This is a great opportunity to contribute to a meaningful cause and gain experience in machine learning, react native, node.js and/or sql.We already have completed high-fidelity wireframes for the front end and a plan for integrating most of the backend functions. Once this section is completed, we will be able to store the data we get from the response of the AI models and use it to select the specific media that would most help a student with understanding the necessary curriculum.
