Project Overview
We are a new animal-therapy rescue nonprofit who needs financial planning advice. We are seeking a volunteer with experience in accounting best practices for California-based organizations. This project will involve providing us with initial advice on bookkeeping, budgeting, and financial management. We also need to file taxes from the previous year, which we hope will be relatively simple as we have only a few specific revenue streams.
Out-of-scope activities:
-Conducting a financial audit
-Ongoing accounting supportWhile we are dedicated and intelligent professionals, finance & bookkeeping is not our area of expertise! We are committed to getting started on the right foot, but do not have the budget to pay a CPA to assist with our books/taxes. For someone who knows accounting & IRS requirements/rules for non-profits, this should be a breeze! The ANIMALS (& amazing humans they serve) NEED YOUR HELP! For the right fit, we would be interested in converting this project into a board member position. We currently have a CHASE checking/savings account, one credit card in the name of the nonprofit, and have received 2 small grants. We use GiveButter as our donation platform and Quickbooks Online Plus.
Nonprofit Overview
Our mission at Robin’s Nest Rescue is to provide sanctuary for neglected, abandoned, or abused animals. We share our growing family of rescue animals to provide education and advocacy concerning the gravity of animal protection measures and the critical significance of animal-human bonds.
