Website Messaging & SEO Audit

Project
Remote
Cure GM1 Foundation
Apply Now

We're seeking a skilled volunteer to conduct a comprehensive SEO and messaging audit of the Cure GM1 Foundation website. This dual-focus project will involve:

SEO Audit:
- Analyzing our current website structure and content for SEO effectiveness
- Identifying key areas for improvement in on-page and technical SEO
- Providing a detailed report with prioritized SEO recommendations

Website Messaging Audit:
- Reviewing current website copy and structure
- Providing recommendations for improving clarity and impact of messaging
- Suggesting ways to better highlight key information and calls-to-action
-Assessing where our site messaging could better reach our SEO goals through the use of keywords related to our mission and programs

The volunteer will then synthesize these findings to ensure our messaging aligns with SEO best practices and our Google Ads campaigns. This project should be completed within 6-8 weeks, with the volunteer contributing approximately 3-5 hours per week, for a total of 25-30 hours over the course of the project.

As a rare disease foundation, our online presence is critical in connecting with families affected by GM1, researchers, and potential donors. This combined SEO and messaging audit is a priority because it will significantly enhance both our visibility and our ability to communicate effectively with those who need us most.

By improving our search engine rankings, we'll be able to reach more families at the crucial moment of diagnosis. Simultaneously, optimizing our messaging will ensure that when these families find us, they immediately understand how we can support them. This dual approach will also help us better engage researchers for potential breakthroughs and inspire donors to support our cause.

For volunteers, this project offers a unique opportunity to apply both technical SEO skills and strategic communication expertise in a highly meaningful context. Your work will directly impact our ability to support families, advance research, and ultimately work towards a cure for GM1. It's a chance to see tangible results of your efforts and know that your skills are making a real difference in people's lives.

This project is an excellent investment of your time because:
- You'll gain experience in applying SEO and messaging strategies in the non-profit sector
- Your work will have a direct, measurable impact on a vital cause
- You'll be contributing to advancements in rare disease awareness and research
- The skills you apply and develop here are highly transferable to other sectors

We have prepared for this project by:
- Securing access to our website backend and analytics tools
- Compiling a list of our key pages and target keywords
- Identifying our key audience segments and their needs
- Drafting our core messages and value propositions

Once the audit is complete, we plan to:
- Review the recommendations with our board and web development team
- Prioritize and implement changes based on impact and resource availability
- Use the findings to inform our content strategy and Google Ads campaigns
- Implement the suggested changes to our website copy and structure
- Use the improved messaging in our other communication channels
- Conduct regular follow-ups to track improvements in our SEO performance and engagement metrics

Our team is committed to implementing the recommendations and has allocated time and resources to ensure the project's success. We have a dedicated point person who will work closely with the volunteer throughout the project and lead the implementation efforts afterward. We're prepared to make this a collaborative and impactful experience for both the volunteer and our foundation.
