We are seeking a skilled web developer to help transform the Here to Serve website with a fresh, modern look and feel.

We have established the design, navigation structure, and design template; now, we’re ready to bring it to life. Our site is built on WordPress, so proficiency in this platform is essential. The volunteer’s primary task will be to translate our vision into a fully functional development version, laying the foundation for usability testing.

The project is expected to unfold over a series of meetings spanning six to nine weeks. In our initial meeting, we will provide an overview of our current site, discuss our transformation goals, and clarify the final outcome. The volunteer will have the opportunity to ask questions, identify any potential concerns, and discuss requirements for success. After this, they will evaluate our environment and begin developing the web pages.

We envision regular check-ins to provide feedback and ensure alignment. The volunteer will develop specific sections of the website, notify us when each section is ready for review, and collaborate on any necessary revisions. Our goal is a modern, engaging website that meets the needs of our key audiences.

At Here to Serve, we are dedicated to supporting families with children facing the daily challenges of cancer. Our website is essential to this mission—it connects families with vital resources and helps inspire donors who share our passion for making a difference. By helping us create a modern, user-friendly website, a volunteer will play a crucial role in amplifying our outreach and impact. This project is a unique opportunity to use your technical skills to support a truly meaningful cause, refining your expertise while directly contributing to the well-being of families in need.

We are fully prepared to brief you on our current website platform, build requirements, branding guidelines, and information about our stakeholder groups and target audiences. We currently have site navigation details, images, messaging, web page template, brand look and designs for each web section. We have compiled all necessary assets and are ready to share with the web developer.

Once the project is complete, we plan to implement the site through usability testing with key user groups, followed by a phased rollout to ensure a smooth transition for our audience.

We believe a child or young parent’s cancer diagnosis is a life-altering journey. For that reason, the care and support of the family are required to avoid parent(s) from losing their physical and mental health, home, job, and/or entering into bankruptcy. Therefore, we provide wraparound services to meet the daily living needs of young families navigating cancer.
