Bylaw Drafting Support

We are looking for support in drafting our bylaws, preferably from someone with nonprofit experience. We have started drafting and need a knowledgeable pair of eyes complete and edit. Additionally suggestions on governances structures are welcome.

This work is essential in our capacity building to become a 501c3 and to establish transparent and inclusive governance. We need finalized bylaws to process our CO1 (charitable org) and 501c3 application. Currently we are a not-for-profit with a fiscal agent that is mainly volunteer operated with high impact.

Since our inception in 2009, our purpose has been to cultivate wellness and foster community for Pilsen, Chicago residents and surrounding areas by providing a welcoming and inclusive space where individuals can connect with nature and each other. Through stewardship, collaboration, education, and community care, we aim to Empower Through Nature.

Our community garden has grown into a vital community resource that extends far beyond its original purpose. Spanning over an acre of stewarded land, it now serves as an incubator for leadership and entrepreneurship through diverse opportunities such as stewardship, beekeeping, quail rearing, food production, wellness residencies, workshops, and more. We proudly maintain a welcoming public green space, engaging the broader community to ensure that everyone can enjoy and benefit from this shared space.
