We are a very small, all-volunteer nonprofit organization that needs to make sure we set up financial structures that allow us to fulfill our mission while also considering the tax implications. Much of the funding we have is pass-through income, but we want to make sure there are internal systems in place to account for and manage this.

The volunteer will help support the mission of the organization by ensuring that we are following best practices to avoid us getting into trouble with the IRS, and to also set up onboarding and other policies for when the financial oversight position (treasurer) transitions among people.

The board and officers, especially the treasurer, are aware of the need to address this issue and are committed to making sure that it is solved.
