Stakeholder Research For Product Development
We are looking for a volunteer who can conduct a stakeholder research initiative for the American Physiological Society's new product development task force. APS is focused on creating an online career development program to educate academic and industry researchers on core foundational skills required for a successful career in the life science industry. As APS develops the concept, we require a Taproot volunteer to collect the following information:
Market Sizing
-Number of PhD life science researchers in pharma/biotech industry (USA and International, if possible)
Competitive Intelligence
-What online resources exist that are focused on research skills training specifically for industry members? Skills themes include: data analysis, science communications, pharmacology, experimental design.
-Are academic career centers at universities offering similar resources?
-What is the pricing of similar online certificate programs related to professional skills in pharma R&D?
The project will inform the creation of an online certificate program to help train life science researchers for successful careers in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry. This will diversify APS' revenue sources and support the career development of young scientists.
To prepare for this project, we have outlined who we believe our current core audiences are and who our aspirational audiences will be. Core audiences include early career and established life science researchers in the United States. You will have a dedicated team member to work with on this project. We plan to implement the results of this research project by integrating the research into a concept proposal to be presented to APS leadership.
