We are seeking skilled volunteers to enhance our AI-powered financial aid platform, built on Microsoft PowerApps and Dataverse. The project includes:

Optimizing Data Workflow & Processing:
- Break down data ingestion into smaller segmented workloads to improve efficiency and reduce processing time.
- Test data structure for bottlenecks in processing speed and optimize PowerApps query execution to enhance response time.
- Implement API Gateway integration to streamline data flow between Microsoft Dataverse and external funding sources such as FAFSA, HUD, and donor platforms.

Enhancing System Scalability & Performance:
- Introduce synthetic transactions to stress-test the platform before full-scale deployment, simulating high-traffic student interactions.
- Develop a sandbox testing environment using a smaller dataset to fine-tune system workflows and identify performance bottlenecks before going live.
- Implement capacity planning strategies to prevent crashes, ensuring the system can handle increasing user loads efficiently.

AI-Driven Optimization & Automation:
- Integrate IBM AI-powered analytics to automate financial aid recommendations based on student profiles and eligibility criteria.
- Deploy AI-driven workflow automation to prioritize students most at risk and provide predictive recommendations for funding opportunities.
- Implement real-time AI monitoring to track system performance, auto-adjust workloads, and optimize resource allocation dynamically.

Security & Compliance Considerations:
- Review and enforce access control policies when integrating external API sources to prevent unauthorized data access.
- Implement data encryption and compliance measures to protect financial data integrity and ensure adherence to regulatory standards such as FERPA and GDPR.

Volunteers will play a crucial role in refining our platform’s architecture, automation, and data security to ensure it remains efficient, scalable, and impactful.

This project will directly support students by improving their access to financial aid, scholarships, and holistic funding opportunities. Our mission is to remove financial barriers that prevent students from achieving their education and career goals. By optimizing our AI-powered financial aid platform, we will:
- Streamline the financial aid process, making it faster and more accessible for students.
- Ensure our system can scale, helping thousands of students efficiently.
- Improve financial inclusion by connecting students to funding opportunities beyond traditional loans.
- Leverage AI for smarter recommendations, enabling students to find the best financial solutions for their needs.

Your expertise will help revolutionize education financing and create life-changing opportunities for students and their families. Join us in making higher education more accessible and equitable!

To ensure success, we have:
- Gained internal buy-in from leadership, tech teams, and program leads
- Prepared detailed documentation on our current system workflows and data needs.
- Identified key API gaps and performance challenges needing expert support.
- Secured collaboration with IBM AI specialists for advanced analytics integration.
- Ensured technical team availability to work closely with volunteers for smooth implementation.

With a dedicated team, structured goals, and clear documentation, we are well-prepared to support volunteers in making meaningful contributions to this project.

At PYTF, we are dedicated to empowering underserved communities through innovative financial solutions. We strive to make higher education accessible and sustainable, recognizing the significant funding gaps that hinder many low to moderate-income undergraduate students from starting, staying in, and completing their degrees. Research indicates that financial obstacles account for 50% of the reasons why low-income students fail to complete their degrees. Our vision is to reshape the socioeconomic landscape by ensuring equitable access to education. Through our Student Loanership product offering—a unique blend of loan and scholarship—we connect families and banks to groundbreaking financing solutions. By harnessing technology and data, we bridge the higher education funding gap. Our program not only revolutionizes the scholarship industry but also places a strong emphasis on student advocacy, championing the financial interests, needs, and overall well-being of students. Join us in collaborating with students like you to forge a future where educational equity is universal, and every scholar has the resources to thrive, alongside student-driven initiatives.
