Employee Health Benefits Plan

My goal for this project is to set up an employee health benefit plan for our three full-time staff members. Our staff is remote, located in three states, and not eligible for many insurance plans. We have been researching health reimbursement plans and need help choosing a plan that meets our needs.

Specific goals are to 1. Support employee well-being, 2. Ensure compliance and regulations, 3. Retain talented staff, and 4. Balance cost and sustainability.

The volunteer will support our mission by helping us offer competitive benefits to enhance employee satisfaction and retention. By taking on this project, a volunteer can help ANCA provide meaningful employee support while freeing up staff resources to focus on mission-driven work. ANCA serves more than 350 member centers nationwide, which are lifelines for their communities and connect millions of people to the natural world. Our staff are our greatest resource and need to be supported in their important work.

My board and I have prepared for this project by prioritizing staff benefits in our current strategic plan. A task force of board and staff has researched various options, including QSEHRA and ICHRA plans. We have also included funds in our annual budget for a plan. We have also collected information from our three staff about their current health insurance plans and costs. We outsource our bookkeeping and payroll to a group that can implement a health reimbursement plan.
