Grant Writing Guidance
My goal for this Taproot Project is to create a mentorship opportunity where a skilled volunteer provides guidance and expertise to our newly established grant-writing team. Creshendo is a young nonprofit organization, just turned one year old, and dedicated to supporting refugees through innovative integration and empowerment programs. We seek a mentor experienced in grant writing and proposal review to help build our internal capacity, refine our proposals, and significantly enhance our chances of securing crucial funding. (We had applied to grants under the current administration but sadly all funding was cut within days of using our only funds to pay someone to draft our applications.)
Through working with our organization on this project, the volunteer will support our mission by empowering our team to create compelling, successful grant proposals. Securing mentorship in grant writing will directly translate into increased funding opportunities, enabling Creshendo to expand our impactful work with refugee communities globally. The volunteer’s expertise will significantly contribute to building Creshendo's long-term sustainability and deepening our positive impact on thousands of refugees and their families.
My team and I have prepared for this project by assembling a dedicated Development and Partnership Team and clearly defining our strategic goals and funding priorities. We have begun identifying potential funders, drafting initial grant proposals, and organizing essential documents such as program descriptions, budgets, and impact metrics. Our internal buy-in is strong, and the team is highly motivated, collaborative, and eager to learn. We are committed to implementing actionable feedback immediately and sustainably.
